Katie grew up in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains alongside the Chattooga River (Where Deliverance was filmed and dueling banjos can actually be heard from time to time). After years of working odd jobs and traveling the world, Katie decided to earn her bachelor’s degree at the age of 30. It was while attending Western Carolina University in North Carolina that she discovered the discipline of flyfishing. When not searching for trout or helping others search for trout, she is a silversmith working from home. Katie is also active with Casting for Recovery and hopes to one day start an organization of her own related to helping people through flyfishing.
