Michigan-born songwriter Drew Nelson joins us for a conversation on fly fishing, music and the progression of life. The world traveler has performed internationally with artists like Melissa Etheridge, Edward McCain and John Gorka.

Drew’s songwriting ability is amazing and I could go on and on about his musical accomplishments, but after we started talking I realized the interview and Drew was about so much more. Drew brings insights about life. He’s been through some crap and has come out the other side walking with a limp, but still walking. He questions life, religion and societal norms. He doesn’t see black and white, but lives in the gray and living in the gray, I believe, is the catalyst for his artistic excellence. Drew also makes custom furniture in his studio in Ada Michigan and like all of the art he creates, it’s excellent.
